 ULTRABEX™ for stringent electronics requirements

0

With the ever decreasing size of electronic components and the quest to constantly improve performance, the electronics market is always looking for optimum product purity and consistency at every stage of the manufacturing process.

Our ULTRABEX™ phosphoric acid, used as etchant for the stripping of aluminium and silicium nitrite during the production of some contactors, provides the answer to these exacting requirements.

Integrated circuits are manufactured from ultra pure thin and polished semiconductor layers that would have previously required several successive cleaning and stripping operations using ultra pure chemicals like ammonia, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, sulphuric acid, hydrofluoric acid and phosphoric acid.

FEBEX specializes in the manufacture of ultra pure phosphoric acid for this application with its ULTRABEX electronic grade, classified ULSI and Grade 3 as defined by SEMI. This grade is defined by low levels of trace metal up to an iron content below 50 ppb and even an impurities content below 100 ppb with the IMAX 100 quality.

Throughout the years, FEBEX has constantly striven to enhance its phosphoric acid grades with a process adapted to the specific needs of the electronic industry:
